Special Guest Stephen Inglis:

Stephen Inglis was born and raised in Honolulu. He plays Grammy-nominated Hawaiian slack key guitar. He records and tours with highly regarded traditional musicians. At the same time he is an innovator: his album Slackin on Dylan opened up new territory for slack key, winning a Hawaii Music Award. And he has made three albums of his singer-songwriter originals. Stephenʻs 2011 duet album with the late Hawaiian music legend Dennis Kamakahi won Hawaiʻis highest musical honor; a Nā Hōkū Hanaohano Award. The album is also on permanent display at the Smithsonian Museum of American History. He is a versatile artist whose work always shines with musical truth.

Stephen’s composition Redwood Slack Key was featured on the Grammy nominated and Nā Hōkū Hanohano(Hawaiʻi’s Grammy) winning album Hawaiian Slack Key Kings Volume 2. Stephen’s 2010 Album Slackin’ on Dylan won the 2011 Hawaii Music Award for Folk album of the year and was nominated for a Nā Hōkū Award a s well.

His music has been featured in film and television with Hawaii NBC affiliate KHON’s special “Hawaiiʻs Saint Damien: A Journey of Sacrifice” among recent projects.

Stephen has also contributed guitar work to albums by renowned artists such as Kenneth Makuakāne and performed and toured with artists such as Slack Key Masters Cindy Combs, Ozzie Kotani , Dennis Kamakahi, Makana and Hawaiian music legends The Makaha Sons.
